NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the green amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Balurghat Tech(20.0%), Bhandari Hosiery(19.96%), Fraser & Company(19.95%), Tarmat Ltd(19.94%), Swasti Vinayaka(19.93%), HLV Ltd.(19.93%), Maha Corp Ltd(PP)(18.18%), Likhitha Infra(15.88%) and Cubex Tubings(15.16%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 417.81 points up at 63099.65, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 140.3 points up at 18758.35.
In the Nifty50 index, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Likhitha Infra NSE 2.27 %, Technopack Polymers Ltd., Kaycee Ind, SBC Exports NSE -7.90 % and HUDCO hit their fresh 52-week high, while Dhruv Wellness, Pace E-Commerce Ventures Ltd., Welcure Drugs, Nureca Ltd NSE -1.78 %. and Fundviser Cap touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
