Natural rubber output up 2% at 46,000 tonnes in May |
New Delhi, Jul 5 : Natural rubber production rose by 2 per cent to 46,000 tonnes during May while imports fell 4 per cent to 35,445 tonnes, according to Rubber Board data.
The production stood at 45,000 tonnes in the same month last year.
Natural rubber consumption rose by 4 per cent during May to 85,000 tonnes from 81,765 tonnes in May 15.
Imports declined to 35,445 tonnes in May this year from 36,964 tonnes in the year-ago period.
During April-May, production of natural rubber remained flat at 85,000 tonnes.
The consumption of natural rubber rose by 4.6 per cent to 1.7 lakh tonnes during the first two months of this fiscal from 1,62,580 tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Imports fell to 69,995 tonnes from 73,921 tonnes during the period under review.
