Trade fair dismisses recession blues.

Subject: Trade fair dismisses recession blues
The India Imports and Manufacturers Trade Fair is back. To start on May 29 and on until June 1, this fair sees a culmination of all importers and manufacturers from India and import hubs like China and Indonesia, Bali, Thailand, Kenya, Malaysia, Kenya and Pakistan. In its sixth edition this time, the organisers of the fair are upbeat. “Every year the response has been phenomenal.

This year too we expect a good response.

I think that because the key aspect of the fair is exclusive pricing, it can beat the recession,” says Riaz, one of the organisers of the fair.

The fair sees participation from almost 18 to 20 industries, whether it be furniture or sanitary ware, jewellery, decorative items or gift articles.

The fair has always been viewed as a platform where dealers, end consumers and manufacturers meet. “The fair is a place where new launches happen, tests are run.

Prices are unique to the fair,” Riaz says.

Riaz believes that recession is something every business person has to get by. “We cannot sit and rue the fact that something is happening out there. We can beat the crisis if we move on,” he says.

For the local manufacturers — like handicraft makers from Rajasthan — it is a great place to showcase their products to an audience from the entire country and abroad.

As for the business it does, Riaz explains that it is difficult to calculate that as every manufacturer has individual pricing system. “They even have single pieces that they expect to sell to the end consumer. So it being a B-2-B as well as a B-2-C platform, we cannot say what the volume is like,” he says.
