Subject: Manufacturing in India will boost exports: Industry
HYDERABAD: The view that manufacturing in India needs to increase to improve import and export business, resonated at ‘The Dollar Business Power Series Conclave 2016-17’ organised on Thursday. The New Indian Express was the media partner to the event where industry heads spoke on the potential of import and export business, its barriers and how it can be overcome.

“Foreign trade is gradually becoming very important segment of Indian economy. Today, international trade contributes to 47 per cent of country’s GDP. It is manufacturing which can sustain India’s exports. Unless manufacturing grows in India, I am not sure whether we will be able to sustain exports,” felt Ajay Sahai, director general and CEO, Federation of Indian Export Organisations, at the conclave organised with the theme ‘Why ‘MAKE’‘in’G’ India an export manufacturing superpower is the need of the hour’.

“Foreign trade plays an important role in economy of any country. India is no different. In fact, we are at cusp where national development has power and potential to change controls of global economy. It will have an impact on  globalisation, international trade, exports and imports,” said Steven Philip Warner, president (VMPL) and Editor-in-Chief of The Dollar Business.

The Dollar Business is online and offline platform for people who deal with imports and exports.
