NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.
Axis Bank(up 1.78 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.97 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.84 per cent), Federal Bank(up 0.69 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.57 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank(down 1.07 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.86 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.59 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.33 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.58 per cent at 34501.65 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 71.8 points at 16331.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 209.2 points at 54527.67.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Indian Oil Corp. and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
