NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Granules India(up 4.93 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 4.47 per cent), Biocon(up 2.24 per cent), Cipla(up 2.04 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(up 1.68 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin(down 1.1 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.54 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 0.47 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 19.0 points at 16240.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 109.94 points at 54208.53.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Indian Oil Corp. and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
