Rupee breaches 55 in early session |

Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Thursday opened lower against the dollar tracking the weak trend in the equity markets.
The partially convertible rupee opened at 54.99 on Thursday.
At 9.28am, the home currency was trading at 55.07, down 0.33% from its previous close, while India’s benchmark Sensex was trading at 18,478.83 points, down 0.75%.
On Monday, the rupee had closed at 54.88, down 0.22%
