Rupee Falls 25 Paise Against US Dollar to 49.40 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was lower by 25 paise or 0.51% against USD to Rs 49.40 compared to previous close of 49.15 (9.31 a.m.).
At 9.31 am., the Sensex was trading down 200.74 points or 1.17% at 16,884.60 with 27 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 60.40 points or 1.18% at 5,078.75 with 48 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.24% to 77.25 opening at 77.02. (23:56 ET)
Euro - USD was trading at 1.37 down 0.2435% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 76.75 down 0.0670%. (23:49 ET).
