The Union Minister said modernisation and mechanisation of Food Corporation of India was going on while all its godowns have been computerised. Henceforth, all payments of over Rs one lakh by the FCI would be through electronic transfer and not through cheques. He said a National Food Movement Plan was being worked out with the Railways so that problem of non-availability of rakes for movement of food grains did not arise.
