Mumbai, Mar 7 (PTI) General Motors India plans to export vehicles out of the country in over next three to four years, a top company official said here today.
"We want to manufacture here our vehicles and create supply chain networks for export purpose. We will also leverage Foreign Trade Agreements from here," General Motors International Operation President Timothy E Lee told reporters here without elaborating on quantum of exports.
GM India is also emphasising on Research and Development (R&D) centre in Bangalore to increase capabilities in manufacturing. The company plans to create the capability by 2012-13.
"We set the time frame to build our capability in two to three years. We have dedicated technical centre in Bangalore and would like to continue R&D facility here to grow.
