MUMBAI, Oct 1 (Reuters) - India's iron ore exports in August were 6.28 million tonnes up from 4.49 million tonnes a year earlier, the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) said on Thursday. Exports for April to August -- the first five months of 2009/10 -- were 37.08 million tonnes, up from 36.47 million tonnes a year earlier, FIMI said.
