India's oilmeal exports up 22% in June .

MUMBAI: Indian oilmeal exports surged up by 22% for June 2012 to 3,05,525 tonnes against 2,05,335 tonnes in last year same period, as per Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA). The total export of oilmeals during April to June 2012 has reduced and reported at 1,057,743 tons compared to 1,087,463 tons during the same period of last year down by 3%, mainly due to disparity in crushing resulted into less availability of oil meals for the export.

Soymeal export in India rose by 54% to 1.80 lakh tonnes in June, as per the industry data released. The country had exported 1.17 lakh tonnes of soya meal in last year same period, Soyabean Processors Association of India ( SOPA) said in a statement.

In the first quarter of the current financial year, shipments of soymeal, which is used as animal feed, rose by 9.7 per cent to 6.55 lakh tonnes, as against 5.97 lakh tonnes in the same period of the 2011-12 fiscal. Rapeseed meal export in June dropped 16 percent to 86,309 tonnes from a year ago while castor seed meal sales fell 18 percent to 17,429 tonnes during the same period.
