Tirupur textiles eyeing Ethiopia.

TIRUPUR: The entrepreneurs in Tirupur knitwear cluster are looking at the possibility of investing in Ethiopia.

Ethiopian Ambassador to India Gennet Zewide had, in an interaction with apparel exporters here, urged them to set up manufacturing bases there since a cluster of textiles would soon be up at Kambolcha, with the Indian government’s support.

Tirupur Exporters Association general secretary Karthikeyan said, “A consultation meeting with all the exporters would be held on Monday to review the prospects of investing in Ethiopia.”
