Some tires from Thailand, wood flooring from Brazil and gold rope necklaces from India will cost more in the United States as a result of an annual review by the Obama administration of a trade program intended to help developing countries.

The review, released last week, also determined that fresh cut carnations from Colombia and silver jewelry from Thailand could continue to enjoy protection from import duties.

The trade program, known as the Generalized System of Preferences, was created in 1974 to help poor countries grow economically by allowing certain goods to be imported to the United States duty-free.
