Subject: IPL 2025 Auction Day 2: Bhuvneshwar Kumar biggest buy of Day 2, 13-year-old Suryavanshi creates hist
IPL 2025 Auction Day 2 Highlights: Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most expensive player on the second day of the 2025 IPL mega auction as the veteran pacer was bought by RCB for INR 10.75 crore. However, the transaction that might have caught everyone's eye, even more than arguably Rishabh Pant's record INR 27 crore acquisition by LSG, would be 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi being bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.10 crore.

The second day also marked the end of an era in the IPL. Since he made his debut as a fairly unknown name who hadn't even played first class cricket in Australia all the way back in 2009, David Warner has played in every season of the IPL except in 2018 when he was serving a ban. There was rarely a question of him even having to enter an IPL auction until 2021. On Monday, though, the 38-year-old, who retired from all forms of international cricket this year, went unsold. Another IPL legend who went unsold was New Zealand great Kane Williamson. Any hopes of seeing James Anderson in the IPL was dashed at the start of the accelerated auction process itself when he wasn't picked.

The biggest pieces of business remain the ones that was done on Day 1. Rishabh Pant is easily the most expensive player of the auction, this one and all that came before. However, that record was broken first by Shreyas Iyer just minutes before he was bought by LSG, with the title-winning captain of KKR going to Punjab Kings for 26.75 crores. KKR, meanwhile, sprung a huge surprise by coughing up INR 23.75 crore for Venkatesh Iyer. Faf du Plessis, who captained RCB the last two seasons, has gone to Delhi Capitals. This now all but confirms the fact that Virat Kohli will become captain of RCB again.
