NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:25AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.
Coforge(up 2.7 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MPhasis(down 4.49 per cent), Wipro(down 3.97 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 2.69 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 2.59 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 1.78 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 2.1 per cent at 26566.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 89.05 points at 15271.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 1045.6 points at 51495.79.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Suzlon Energy and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
