Rupee gains 12 paise against US dollar to 54.45 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was up by 12 paise or 0.22% against USD to Rs 54.45 compared to previous close of 54.57 (09.24 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.12% to 79.83 (22:43 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.32 down 0.11% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 89.08 up 0.34% (22:54 ET).
At 9.25 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 116.86 points or 0.59% at 19,780.41 with 9 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 23.85 points or 0.40% at 5,992.50 with 12 components gaining.
