The Consul General of India, Indra Mani Pandey, has inaugurated the India Pavilion of the 108th Session of China Import and Export Fair organized by Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) at Guangzhou on 15th October, 2010.

This is one of the biggest international fair organized by China, covering 1.12 million Sq. meters of exhibition area with 23000 companies and 57000 exhibitors taking part in this edition, FIEO informed in a press release today.

FIEO is participating with a 100 plus strong delegation of businessmen from about 50 Indian companies being led by Ganesh Kumar Gupta Immediate Past President FIEO covering items like handtools, carpets, kitchenware, stainless steel household products, handicrafts, Jute products, plastic houseware, engineering items, etc. FIEO is participating in this fair since 2008 with increasing  number of Indian companies every year.

Besides O P Garg Past President FIEO and G P Upadhyaya Secretary General FIEO are also part of the FIEO delegation.

While inaugurating the Indian Pavilion, Pandey complimented FIEO for its exemplary effort in organizing participation of Indian exhibitors. He said that FIEO has established a commendable tradition of mobilizing and organizing Indian participation which contributes to India’s success in enhancing its exports to China and the world.

The bilateral trade between India and China has been expanding and China has emerged as India’s second largest trading partner with and all time high figure US dollar 42.4 billion in 2009-10.

The target for the current year is US dollar 60 billion. It is worthwhile to note that with consistent demand of FIEO Canton Fair Phrase III has been opened for International participation from this year.

FIEO is also participating in Phase III edition starting from 31st, Oct at the same value. FIEO is also lobbying strongly for opening of Canton Phase II edition for consumer items for international participation.

The FIEO delegation will have meetings with Zhu Zhe Man, Dy. Director General, Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ren Xiangdong, Dy Director General China Foreign Trade Center and other senior government officials of Guangdong province, including Guangdong President CCPIT (China Council for Promotion of International Trade), during their stay in Guangzhou.
