EEPC India Announces India's Largest engineering International Show |
The show will focus on Indian industrial supply in the manufacturing sector, discuss technologies for business, innovation, cleantech, global sourcing & supplies and factory automation.
Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC India) on the eve of their Western Region awards function announced India’s largest Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS). IESS will be organized for the first time in India by EEPC India, under the tutelage of the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry.. The show will take place in Mumbai between March 22 and 24, 2012. IESS objective is to give an opportunity to the Indian companies to explore their business alliances globally with leading industry heads. With 300 plus exhibitors IESS will be an expansive showcase of India’s manufacturing capabilities to a National and International audience. This event will also act as a platform for Indian companies to meet international buyers from USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa etc. The show will focus on Indian industrial supply in the manufacturing sector, discuss technologies for business, innovation, cleantech, global sourcing & supplies and factory automation. The show will highlight India’s technological advancement in the manufacturing sector from SMEs to large scale industries. In the past, EEPC India has organized various international shows in countries like Malaysia, China, Brazil & Indonesia. For over 5 decades EEPC India has been a facilitator of engineering sector by organsing various promotional activities. In order to acknowledge the achievements of its members, it also felicitates them annually. At this Western Region awards, EEPC India felicitated 95 companies for their remarkable contribution to the engineering sector in India. Some of the companies which were felicitated at the event were Bajaj Auto Ltd, Bharti Shipyard Ltd, Kirloskar Oil Ltd, Kinetic Engineering Ltd, Netafim Irrigation India Ltd, Suzlon Energy Ltd, Voltas Ltd, Whirpool India Ltd. Speaking on the occasion, Aman Chadha, Chairman, EEPC India said, “It gives us immense pleasure to felicitate these companies that have been contributing exceptionally to the Indian engineering sector. It is heartening to note the country’s engineering exports for the period April-September 2011, is estimated to be around USD 46.4 billion out of the total exports of USD 160 billion. This implies a share of 29% of total exports. Also Engineering Exports grew by 101 % from USD 23.05 billion in April-September 2010 to USD 46.4 billion in April-September 2011.” He further added, “By bringing India’s Largest International Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS), Indian companies will get an authoritative platform and an opportunity to network and trade with inestimable international buyers from all the continents. We are glad to contribute in taking India to a whole new level.” Chief Guest H R Khan, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India who presented the Awards enlightened the award winning companies about the current growth trajectory of the sector. He also mentioned, “With a growth target of 500 billion exports by 2015 and a with higher growth focus for the coming months we need to focus on diversifying our markets around the globe. EEPC being an industry body is helping companies to achieve their projected targets by giving them the support required. We are very positive that through our sustained and collective efforts, we will sail through this slowdown and emerge again.” EEPC India right from its inception has been insisting the exporting community to focus on the quality parameter and - 2 - the Council itself has the distinction of achieving the ISO 9002 accreditation. This has further been upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 for designing and execution of exhibition management services and provision of specialized management, educational, consulting and public relation services to engineering industry. Engineering exports from India has been steadily growing and the performance has exceeded all expectations ever since the birth of the Council. Khalid Khan, Dy Regional Chairman (WR) concluding the event said, “The Export of Engineering Goods has registered spectacular performance of US$ 59.78 billion on all India basis, which accounts for roughly 25% of the total exports of the country during the year 2010-2011.The share of Western Region in the total engineering exports has gone up from 38% in the year 2008-09 to 41% in the year 2010-2011. He further added, “The Government has introduced special schemes such as Special Bonus Scheme and Focus Market Scheme (FMS) with a view to increase the competitiveness of exports with a geographical targeting. FMS would provide additional @3% duty credit when exports are made to targeted countries. I hope this inspires our members to make all efforts to achieve excellence and prove to the world, the capability of Indian exporters to sustain challenges and scale heights.”
