Subject: EEPC India to bring thirty international buyers in Vibrant Gujarat 2011
For the first time, EEPC India, which was formerly known as Engineering Exports Promotion Council, is organising a buyers-sellers meet for engineering companies in Gujarat.

Till now, the nodal agency has organised the event once a year in metros while this year, apart from Delhi, EEPC India has organised the event on January 12 during Vibrant Gujarat 2011 in Gandhinagar.

"EEPC India is a partner at the fifth Vibrant Gujarat meet scheduled to be held on January 12 and 13 2011 in which, we have organised buyers and sellers meet. For the engineering industry meet, we are inviting around 30 international buyers. We are organising the event on January 12, 2011 at Mahatma Mandir where the Vibrant Gujarat 2011 is scheduled," said chairman of EEPC India, Aman Chadha.

Buyers are expected to come from Latin America, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). "We are inviting engineering companies from Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Peru and other countries from Latin America while from Africa we are expecting huge scope from north African countries. We are also inviting buyers from CIS(Russian countries)," he said.

The buyers and sellers meet for engineering industries is being organised for non-member engineering companies of EEPC in Gujarat. "Of the total members, 60% are MSMEs and in this particular event, we are expecting companies with size of less than Rs15 crore. Large companies do not require this kind of platform," said Chadha.

EEPC India, which is sponsored by the union ministry of commerce and industry, opened its sub-regional office in Ahmedabad on Saturday for around 2,000 engineering companies of Gujarat. "In India we have more than 13,000 engineering companies as members of which around 4,500 are based in the western part of the country. We opened our chapter in Ahmedabad especially for Gujarat based engineering industries," he said.

The Ahmedabad chapter of EEPC India was inaugurated by Saurabh Patel, minister of state for industries, Gujarat. Speaking about the engineering industry of Gujarat, Chadha said, "Our state's engineering industry has many achievements to its credit. Gujarat is the largest producer of sponge iron in the country with 35% share. Gujarat is also the largest exporter of clocks in the world," he said.
