EXIM Bank office opened in Chandigarh |

An office of the EXIM (export-import) Bank was opened here Wednesday to facilitate business activities in the region.
'We hope that trade and industries of this region will get boost after the opening of this bank. They will get various services under one roof here, which could help them in expanding their business,' said Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who inaugurated the office.
It is the 10th regional branch of EXIM Bank in the country and first in the Union Territory, which is also the capital of Punjab and Haryana.
Punjab governor and Chandigarh administrator Shivraj Patil said: 'This bank will help individuals, private and public companies. It will assist governments of other countries and the agencies involved in export-import business'.
