High-tech facilities for Indian businesses in Vietnam.

Date: 09-08-2010
Subject: High-tech facilities for Indian businesses in Vietnam
Vietnam will provide more high-tech facilities for Indian businessmen investing in their country, with the aim of strengthening long-term ties and sharing its experiences in industrial growth, minister of agriculture and rural development Bui Ba Bong said today.

"We have a good relationship and collaboration with India.

In order to further boost ties, we are ready to provide high tech facilities to the Indian businessmen, who evince interest in investing in our country", he said.

The minister, here to participate in an international conference 'Eliminating Hunger and Poverty: Priorities in Global Research and Development Agenda', organised by MS Swaminathan Research Foundation at Trade Centre, said India could export Industrial machinery, chemicals and sugar to Vietnam.

"We are also interested in having a tie-up with Indian software companies to utilise their services in our nation in various fields", he added.

"Vietnam being a leading exporter of cashew nuts, fisheries products, black pepper and rice, is also interested in exporting these items to India to improve trade relations between both the countries", he said.

He said Vietnam has taken steps to liberalise its financial and equity markets for investment opportunities. "Indian businessman can invest in Vietnam because of low costs and its highly literate population", he said.

He said the year 2010 was Vietnam's 20th anniversary of rice export and would see the nation exporting more than six million tons of milled rice. "This year, rice export volume is projected to exceed six million tons", he added.

Stating that signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement recently showed the new road map of India-Vietnam ties, he said India is one of the largest exporters, with exports growing steadily to more than $300 million.

"This bilateral relation would further increase in the coming years", he said.
