India's April-October Spices Exports Up 6 Percent In Volume |
As per the latest updates from the spices board of India, during April-October 2010, a total of 317,800 tonnes of spices and spice products valued Rs. 3685.25 crores (US$805.10 Million) has been exported from the country as against 299,250 tonnes valued Rs. 3260.08 crores (US$ 675.15 Million) in April-October 2009 registering an increase of 6% in volume and 13% in rupee terms of value. In dollar terms the increase is 19%.
Compared to the spices export target of 465,000 tonnes valued Rs. 5100.00 crores (US$ 1125 million) fixed for the financial year 2010-11, the achievement of 317,800 tonnes valued Rs. 3685.25 crores (US$ 805.10 million) during April-October 2010 is 68% in terms of quantity and 72 % in rupee and dollar terms of value.
