India's Carpet Exporters Unable To Chieve Target Due To Shortage Of Weavers |
The carpet exporters in India are not able to achieve the growth target due to the strong weavers shortages in the country even though there is a strong rise in demand in the international markets.
The carpet exporters in India are currently have been struggling to get fresh weavers for meeting the production need of the exporters. There is enough demand flow from the western markets like US and Europe but the industry needs to have potential weavers.
For the present financial year 2011-12, the export promotion council for carpet exports have fixed a higher target of $800 million.
Even, the carpet industry has requested the planning commission to consider the setting up of new carpet training centers all across India. Reports suggest that the net carpet exports during April-June, 2011 was at nearly $140 million as compared to $120 million in the corresponding quarter of 2010, witnessing 17% growth.
