India's Coffee Export Jumps By 44.7% in Jan |
Coffee exports of the country increased by 44.7 per cent in January to 20,957 tonnes as compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the Coffee Board of India.
India's coffee shipment in January last year stood at 14,474 tonnes, the board said in a statement.
Out of the total coffee exports of 20,957 tonnes in the first month of the current year, 2011 tonnes were re-exports, while remaining 18,946 tonnes were normal exports. The statement said.
According to Coffee Board estimates, production in India during 2010 is estimated to be 3.08 lakh tonnes from 2.89 lakh tonnes in the previous year.
Italy, Germany and Russia are India's biggest overseas coffee markets. Together, these three countries constitute over 40 per cent of India's total exports.
