India`s exports rise 4.28% in February |
India`s Exports during February, 2012 were valued at USD 24,618.08 million which was 4.28% higher in Dollar terms (12.84% higher in Rupee terms) than the level of USD 23,608.36 million during February, 2011. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-February 2011 -12 was USD 267,409.89 million as against USD 220,241.12 million registering a growth of 21.42% in Dollar terms and 27% in Rupee terms over the same period last year.
India`s Imports during February, 2012 were valued at USD 39,781.68 million representing a growth of 20.65% in Dollar terms (30.56% in Rupee terms) over the level of imports valued at USD 32,973.40 million in February, 2011. Cumulative value of imports for the period April-February, 2011-12 was USD 434,159.81 million as against USD 335,502.15 millionregistering a growth of 29.41% in Dollar terms and 35.33% in Rupee terms over the same period last year.
Oil imports during February, 2012 were valued at USD 12,659.9 million which was 39.45 % higher than oil imports valued at USD 9,078.4 million in the corresponding period last year. Oil imports during April-February, 2011-12 were valued at USD 132,560.4 million which was 41% higher than the oil imports of USD 94,011.4 million in the corresponding period last year.
Non-oil imports during February, 2012 were estimated at USD 27,121.7 million which was 13.50% higher than non-oil imports of USD 23,895 million in February, 2011. Non-oil imports during April - February, 2011-12 were valued at USD 301,599.4 million which was 24.89% higher than the level of such imports valued at USD 241,490.7 million in April - February, 2010-11.
The trade deficit for April-February, 2011-12 was estimated at USD 166,749.92 million which was higher than the deficit of USD 115,261.03 million during April-February, 2010-11.
