India’s G&J Exports Rise 37.82% in October |
India’s gem and jewellery exports in October 2010 valued US$ 2,922.58 million, after rising 37.82 percent from last year’s October figures of US$ 2,120.64 million. Within the export basket, cut and polished diamond exports valued US$ 2,065.01 million, after a 37.55 percent boost over US$ 1,501.25 million worth of exports in the same month of 2009.
Despite the sensitive gold prices, gold jewellery exports in the month rose 34.41 percent to US$ 692.14 million, while in the comparable period last year it stood at US$ 514.94 million. Coloured gemstone exportrs were hit by 18.51 percent to value US$ 19.02 million, from US$ 23.34 million in the same month last year.
