India’s G&J Exports Rise 70.49% in December 2010 |
India’s total gem and jewellery exports in December 2010 spurred up by70.49 percent to US$ 3,303.71 million (in December 2009 the said exports valued US$ 1,937.80 million). Cut and polished diamond exports was at an astounding peak of US$ 2,492.32 million as it rose 91.48 percent (December 2009: US$ 1,301.63 million).
Coloured gemstone exports also recorded growth but a comparatively small one of 15.48 percent to US$ 17.46 million (December 2009:US$ 15.12 million). Within this basket of gem and jewellery exports, the only fall was seen in gold jewellery exports which dipped 8.05 percent to US$ 498.01 million (December 2009: US$ 541.63 million).
