India Won't Slap Import Tax on Crude Edible Oil: Source |

NEW DELHI: India has no immediate plans to impose import tax on edible oils, a government source said on Tuesday.
Some traders had expected the government to impose import tax on crude edible oils and raise duties on refined varieties.
"Prices have again started showing some firmness and as we import 50 percent of our total consumption, any increase in the duty will add to the inflation," the source told reporters.
