Japan’s Polished Imports From India Rise 4% |
The imports of polished diamonds into Japan in February 2011, showed an overall dip of 7.6 percent (y-o-y) to $50.2 million, but country-wise resulted an increase. From India it jumped 4 percent to $27.2 million, by 11 percent from Belgium to $10.2 million, and by 58 percent from Israel to $5.7 million. All figures are on y-o-y basis.
The country’s polished imports in volume terms decreased 5 percent to 176,328 carats. Amongst other gem and jewellery imports, Japan imported $47.9 million worth of gold jewellery an increase of 23 percent and platinum jewellery worth $43.3 million an increase of 54 percent.
