Mumbai, Aug. 30: The government will electronically connect 70 ports in the country by the end of next year, a move that will help exporters reduce transaction costs. The commerce ministry is encouraging the use of electronic systems with initiatives such as the electronic data interchange-enabled ports, electronic message exchange between the customs and the directorate general of foreign trade.
