PPMA Discusses MFN India’s Implications on Local Pharma |
KARACHI: Pakistan had no justification for not granting the MFN status to India while giving it to all other countries in the WTO.
Head of WTO Cell TDAP, Mujeeb Ahmed Khan at a seminar explained the details of granted MFN status to India under WTO laws, its obligations and clarified it was a pending obligation on behalf of Pakistan.
Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) in collaboration with Trade Development Authority (TDAP) on Friday organised the event. He explained the detailed procedures and existing protective laws against the NTB’s including safeguard measures, anti-dumping duties, anti-subsidy, countervailing duties and tariff protection.
He explained details of the regulatory framework through which drug imports could be tightly regulated.
