Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was lower by 0.16 paise or 0.31% against USD to Rs 51.88 compared to previous close of 51.71 (9.24 a.m.).
At 9.32 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 69.82 points or 0.41% at 16,807.24 with 26 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 22.95 points or 0.45% at 5,039.65 with 43 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.07% to 78.47 (22:56 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.33 down 0.1089% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 77.65 down 0.0315% (22:53 ET).
