Rupee falls 9 paise against US dollar to Rs 55.20 |

Indian rupee weakened against the greenback in noon trade on Thursday. Rupee was lower by 9 paise or 0.15% against US dollar to Rs 55.20 compared to previous close of 55.11 (12.07 p.m.). It opened at Rs 55.11 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.11% to 80.84 after opening at 80.78 (01:27 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.28 up 0.11% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.46 down 0.07% (01:35 ET).
At 12.07 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 30.55 points or 0.17% at 18,490.93 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 2.50 points or 0.04% at 5,617.30 with 23 components gaining.
