Soybean Meal Exports From India May Surge 68%, Group Predicts |
Soybean-meal exports from India, Asia’s top supplier of the animal feed, may climb 68 percent this month as Southeast Asian buyers substitute imports from South America, where dry weather threatens planting.
Sales to Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and China may be 500,000 metric tons in November, compared with 297,661 tons a year ago, Rajesh Agrawal, a coordinator for the Soybean Processors Association of India, said in a phone interview.
Sales in the quarter to Dec. 31 may surge 78 percent to 1.5 million tons, he said.
About 35 percent to 40 percent of the 10.1 million tons of soybean output forecast by the association has arrived, he said.
