NEW DELHI: The India growth story is here, now and real, Times Group MD Vineet Jain said on Thursday. He was speaking in the context of India's gross domestic product (GDP), which grew by 7.2 per cent in FY 2022-23.

"It is not often that a nation's growth is acclaimed across the world. We bear witness to an 'Amrit Kaal' that promises to reap India's great demographic dividend and bring widespread prosperity to Indians. It is not a bullish expectation any more. Just yesterday, India's GDP beat all expectations and forecast to clock 7.2 per cent - higher than any economy in the world. The India growth story is here, now and real," Vineet Jain said at the inaugural ceremony of the 2-day Times Network India Economic Conclave.

India's economy grew by 6.1 per cent in March quarter of 2022-23, pushing the annual growth rate to 7.2 per cent on account of better performance by agriculture, manufacturing, mining and construction sectors.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Times Group MD said, "As we surge ahead under the stewardship of PM Modi's strong and bold government, it has unlocked opportunities like never before for Indian entrepreneurs".

The focus of Times Network India Economic Conclave (IEC) 2023 is 'India: The Emerging Third Superpower'.

Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari, Union home minister Amit Shah, Union defence minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath are among the key participants at the Times Network India Economic Conclave in the national capital. The IEC will also see the participation of eminent policymakers and top business leaders of the country.

"As the fastest growing large economy that is thriving amid global headwinds backed by growing geopolitical heft and G20 presidency, IEC 2023 explores what lies ahead for India. What's vision without a clearly spelt out mission. From infrastructure and innovation to education and environment, deep insights are certain to emerge from this year's conclave," Jain added.

India officially assumed the G20 presidency on December 1, 2022. G20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies.
