Rupee falls 16 paise against US dollar to 53.45 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was down by 0.16 paise or 0.30% against USD to Rs 53.45 (09.24 a.m.).
At 09.23 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 79.91 points or 0.49% at 16,340.14 with 24 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 16.80 points or 0.34% at 4,948.90 with 43 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.15% to 80.23 (23:54 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.29 down 0.11% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 78.89 down 0.06% (23:48 ET).
