Rupee falls 25 paise against US dollar to 53.47 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was down by 25 paise or 0.48% against USD to Rs 53.47 compared to previous close of 53.22 (09.24 a.m.).
''The rupee appears to continue to consolidate with little bias of some depreciation as concern rise on projected slowest economic growth in a decade in the fiscal year which makes it difficult to fund fiscal and current account deficits,'' said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.04% to 80.15 (22:46 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.34 up 0.10% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 93.50 down 0.14% (22:53 ET).
