Rupee falls 9 paise against US dollar to 54.45 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was down by 9 paise or 0.17% against USD to Rs 54.45 compared to previous close of 54.36 (09.22 a.m.).
''USDINR price could extend its two day weakness towards 200-Day EMA of 53.98 levels from current levels as price settled well below 100-Day EMA of 54.47 on Wednesday. We are expecting bounce from strong support levels of 54,'' said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.25% to 80.05 (22:44 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.31 down 0.34% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 87.25 down 0.10% (22:56 ET).
At 09.26 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 17.87 points or 0.09% at 19,732.11 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 5.35 points or 0.09% at 5,998.60 with 32 components gaining.
