Rupee gains 17 paise against US dollar 53.43 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was up by 17 paise or 0.33% against USD to Rs 53.43 compared to previous close of 53.60 (09.25 a.m.).
At 09.25 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 41.83 points or 0.22% at 18,674.00 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 6.60 points or 0.12% at 5,670.05 with 37 components gaining.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.12% to 79.78 (23:45 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.28 up 0.02% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 77.66 down 0.10% (23:53 ET).
