Rupee gains 39 paise against US dollar to 54.43 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was up by 39 paise or 0.71% against USD to Rs 55.43 compared to previous close of 54.82 (09.22 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.04% to 80.17 (22:42 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.29 up 0.12% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.48 up 0.44% (22:50 ET).
"We expect Indian rupee to sustain today as India’s quarterly GDP data at 11:00 am is expected to be at 5.5% same as previous," said Emkay Global Financial Services.
At 09.21 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 134.23 points or 0.70% at 19,305.14 with 27 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 38.75 points or 0.67% at 5,863.75 with 42 components gaining.
