Rupee gains 6 paise against US dollar to 55.15 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Tuesday. Rupee was up by 6 paise or 0.12% against USD to Rs 55.15 compared to previous close of 55.22 (09.21 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.10% to 80.17 (22:44 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.31 up 0.04% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 87.65 down 0.16% (22:54 ET).
At 9.24 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 30.62 points or 0.16% at 19,660.80 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 9.60 points or 0.16% at 5,978.80 with 34 components falling.
