Rupee gains 8 paise against US dollar to 54.36 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was up by 0.08 paise or 0.15 against USD to Rs 54.36 (09.21 a.m.).
At 9.23 am., the Sensex was trading up 122.66 points or 0.77% at 16,152.75 with 28 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 39.55 points or 0.81% at 4,897.80 with 46 components gaining.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.12% to 81.27 (23:46 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.27 up 0.24% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 80.29 down 0.05% (23:40 ET).
