Rupee plunges 33 paise against US dollar to 54.82 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was down by 33 paise or 0.61% against USD to Rs 54.82 compared to previous close of 54.49 (09.22 a.m.).
''USDINR prices are likely to gain it's positive sentiment towards 54.70 levels initial as price has bounced from strong support levels of 54.25 levels,'' said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.28% to 80.60 (22:43 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.14% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 87.77 up 0.61% (22:49 ET).
At 09.24 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 24.58 points or 0.12% at 19,740.20 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 10.80 points or 0.18% at 5,998.70 with 33 components falling.
