Rupee surges 31 paise against US dollar to 53.46 in early trade |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Wednesday. Rupee was up by 31 paise or 0.58% against USD to Rs 53.46 compared to previous close of 53.77 (09.27 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.05% to 79.60 (22:48 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.34 down 0.03% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 90.88 up 0.17% (22:58 ET).
At 9.28 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 52.81 points or 0.26% at 20,043.71 with 20 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 19.00 points or 0.31% at 6,068.90 with 37 components gaining.
