India containerized scrap import prices decline to $380 a ton |

MUMBAI : India containerized scrap import prices declined by 1.3% week-on-week to $380 a ton in the week ended February 21st this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index (TSI).
According to TSI, containerized shredded scrap index for Indian imports fell by a $5 a ton last week to finish at $380 a ton.
This came as the weaknesses seen in international scrap prices in recent weeks began to be reflected in Indian procurement.
In particular, lower demand in Turkey in the last few weeks has resulted in more scrap being available on the market, meaning lower offer prices were reaching Indian buyers.
