*Norms of multilation for Import of Woollen/Synthetic Rags, shoddy Wool under OGL
The following Public notice has been issued by the Bombay Collector of customs.
Ref. 80-PN 23.06.93 - Attention of the Importers, custom House Agents and all other concerned in invited to para 27 of Revised Edition (March 1993) of Handbook of
Procedures 1992-97 wherein it is stipulates that woollen rags/synthetic rags/shoddy wool in completely pre-multilated form is allowed to be imported without any import licence subject to the conditions that multilation must conform to the requirements as specified by the Customs authorities through their Public Notice/Trade Notices.
Under the Import Export policies AM 1988-91 and AM 1990-93, similar provisions existed in condition No. 25(i) and 29(ii) of Appendix 6 respectively. The norms for multilation of imported woollen rags, synthetic rags, were notified under PN No. 60 dated 08.06.88 under import Export Policy AM 1988-91 and the same were adopted in Import Export Policy AM 1990-93 vide PN 40 dated 02.05.1990. The importers and others concerned are hereby informed that the same nroms contained in PN No. 60/88 dated 8.6.88 shall apply for the purpose of detemining what would constitute pre-multilated rags under the current Import Export Poilyc AM 1992-97 also.
