Amendment in Exim Policy and ITC (HS) Classification of Exim Items

No. 5 dated 27th May 1997
In
exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the foreign Trade (Development
and Regulation Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 4.1 of Export and
import Policy, 1997 - 2002, the center government hereby makes the following
amendments in the Export and import policy, 1997 -2002 and ITC (HS)
Classification of Export and Import Items 1997 -2002, published on 31st March,
1997 and as amended form time to time.
1. In Export and import policy in chapter 15,
part III, para 15.3 entry at Sl. No. shall be substituted by the following:

Cereals, excluding feed grade maize for poultry or animals and common/ coarse
varieties of rice and rice, with 50% or more broke:
i)
Food corporation of India.
ii)
Wheat is permitted to be imported in accordance with a Public Notice
issued in this behalf issued in this behalf.
2. The following remarks shall be added against
Exim Code 10.06 Rice in Chapter 10 of the ITC (HS) Classification of Export and
Import items, 1997 - 2002:
"However, import of common/ coarse varieties of rice and rice, with
50% or more broken, covered under this heading shall be freely."
