Subject: Amendment in import policy of Beans of the species Vigna mungo (L) Hepper or Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek under Chapter 7 of the ITC (HS) 2017, Schedule- I (Import Policy).
Vide Notification No. 22/2015-2020 dated 21 August, 2017 import of urad and
moong was put under restricted list with 3 lakh MT of annual quota. S.O. (E): In
exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of FT (D&R) Act, 1992 read with
paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, as amended from
time to time, the Central Government, in partial modification of Notification
No. 22/2015-2020 dated 21 August, 2017 hereby amends the import policy of items
of Chapter 7 of the ITC (HS) 2017, Schedule- I (Import Policy). as under:-

Policy Condition 3: Policy Condition 3: Import of Urad and Moong under all
the above three HS codes shall be subject to an annual (fiscal year) quota of 3
lakh MT (1.5 lakh MT each) as per procedure to be notified. This restriction
will not apply to Government’s import commitments under any bilateral/regional
Agreement/MOU.
2. Effect of this Notification: Import policy of urad and moong
in split & others forms under EXIM Codes: 0713 90 10 and 0713 90 90 are also
restricted in addition to urad and moong under HS: 0713 31 00 with annual import
quota of 3 lIkh MT for all.
