Subject: – Amendment of import policy of Petcoke.
S.O. (E): In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of FT (D&R) Act, 1992, read
with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, as amended from time to time, the Central Government
hereby notifies amendment to the
Notification No. 25/2015-2020 dated 17th August, 2018 read with
Notification No 30/2015-2020
dated 28th August, 2018.
2. In partial modification of
Notification No.25/2015-2020 dated 17th August, 2018, the Policy condition, after amendment,
will read as under:
Import of pet coke for fuel purpose is prohibited. However, import of Pet coke is “free” for cement, lime kiln, calcium carbide,
gasification industries and graphite electrode industry for use as feed stock or in the manufacturing process only on Actual User
basis. Regulation and monitoring of such imports will be as per the guidelines of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change
issued vide O.M. No.Q-18011/54/2018-CPA dated September 10, 2018.
3. Effect of this Notification: In addition to the existing four industries namely cement, lime kiln, calcium carbide and gasification
industries, the fifth one i.e. graphite electrode industry is added for whom Petcoke is freely importable.
This issues with the approval of Minister of Commerce and Industry.
